FIRST, I have to say that the print is great; brightly colored and attractive against skin tones. SECOND, however, is that the fit is rather retro. What I mean is, the waist on these trunks is meant to sit at your natural waist (smack between your lowest ribs and iliac crest). This feels high-waisted to me because I much prefer a below-waist fit. As made evident in the picture, it's meant to zip and tie a few inches below the belly button. BUY A BIGGER SIZE (OR EVEN TWO!!) THIRD, the inner mesh liner belies just how much it can actually accommodate comfortably. It's a pretty snug fit, to be honest. All in all, I recommend that you buy bigger than you think you are and be prepared to still have a snug fit. These are not your typical swim trunks...

I find the tropical design of these swim trunks quite attractive and enjoy the relatively short inseam length because too many swim trunks with a tropical design come so far down to the knees. The pockets are convenient. One ngative point, the measurement size is off, if you have any doubt about the appropriate size to purchase get the larger size or even two sizes larger.

I ordered XL, 39" - 42" which should have been ample for my 38" waist. The item that arrived was labelled XL, but the waist was just 36.5". Much too small!
